This paper puts payload-dependent endurance and detours around no-fly zones explicitly into a hybrid truck-drone routing problem. It is the citation to use when contrasting a constant-endurance TSP-D. The card is citation-level.
Flight range is treated as strongly dependent on payload because of the battery. Areas that regulators restrict, and areas temporarily closed by weather, are detoured by a rotation procedure. A mathematical model and a two-phase constructive and search heuristic are proposed.
The shape of forbidden areas and the weight-to-energy function are inputs. They are not a current national no-fly map. Heuristic quality is relative to the algorithms used in the comparison.
